Monica chose this title because she always says the view outside her bedroom window and studio window is her "favorite show" - her windows overlook the Palisades and the Hudson River and at first light, it's an astonishing, beautiful sight. The sky is still dark in the early hours with the moon reflecting over the Hudson but as the sun is rising you can see its early morning glow on the face of the mountains and cliffs. Living on the Hudson River and having a view of the majestic Palisades from her studio each day is an amazing source of inspiration for Monica as she explores these memories and moments through her artwork.

Monica Shulman is a New York-based artist who tells stories through her brand of gestural abstraction. Her work is rooted in the traditions of abstract expressionism and she describes her world as colorful and rhythmic.
