Material traditionally made from hand -spun wool often dourced from local sheep .Cotton is frequently used for the warp threads for stability. Of course some were made in pre 1900 & some in post 1900's. Also, some were made in the shops or purpose of commercial market for expoeting to the west. What puts a caucasian rug in collectible catergory is, exact technique, which include all goos dyes withot using any synthetic & was made in a very small number that goes to a different category like a star Kazak.\The one that I am offering here is for those who are in the market for something with tribal look, also folks who love the look of antique thinn rugs with a worn out look this could be a great candidate. As you see, it has a detailed pattern with full of tribal motifs plus different charaters in animals. This runner has low even flat pile from top to bottom, shows wear plus some restoration but has no holes, tears, stain & odor. Unlike some rugs at this age that show some unravel foundation threads, this rug has a solid foundation. See less
