Turner and Thomas Girtin found patronage, along with other members including John Linnell, John Sell Cotman, Peter de Wint, William Henry Hunt, Joshua Cristall and John Varley.Provenance: Alexander Monro and by descent.Interestingly, this is identified by the artist on the verso as being 'After a Picture by Gainsborough 3ft 2 by 4ft 2 in the possession of Jonathan Lea[?] drawn before breakfast 10th Sep.r 1832.'On buff-coloured wove paper.All artworks come with a Certificate of Authenticity and—if it is a collection artwork—its accompanying collection text or artist biography.
