Jordi samsó’s 1988 composition captures a haunting convergence of human and animal forms in a dreamlike, expressionistic space. Rendered in gestural, fluid strokes and a moody palette of slate grey, smoky blues, and rust-toned accents, the scene evokes a sense of tension and movement. Two abstracted female figures emerge from the shadows, their postures charged with both vulnerability and strength, as a vividly textured hare approaches from the right—its presence both mystical and symbolic. Samsó’s expressive brushwork and bold contour lines create a charged, visceral surface, while translucent overlays of color lend emotional depth and ambiguity. The composition reflects the artist’s signature blend of figuration and abstraction, rooted in postwar catalan modernism.
