the ceramic base is an early 20th-century desvres faience vase in the delft tradition, decorated over a softly aged tin-glazed white ground. The surface is densely painted with birds, floral sprays, scrolling foliage, and stylized ornament in cobalt blue, burnt orange, olive green, and golden yellow, creating a vibrant, textile-like richness that reads beautifully in the warm glow of lamplight.

the base bears the faux delft “lf” mark—a deliberate nod to dutch golden age delftware—and is attributed to the desvres ateliers associated with georges martel (géo martel), whose delft-style revival pieces are known for painterly precision and strong historical references.

a bespoke slate-blue velvet lampshade, made in a dutch atelier, adds a calm, luxurious counterpoint to the vivid polychrome palette. Brass fittings and fabric wrapped matching cord. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
