Alexander Kuntner, born in 1898 in Hungary, studied art in Budapest under famed painters such as Jenö Gyárfás, Tibor Gallé, and Palla Jenö.
Kuntner worked many years at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, which supported his passion and secondary income stream as a professional portrait painter. His style could most appropriately be characterized as realism, but with a whimsical intensity that became his trademark.
This proud piece is like a beloved grumpy uncle keeping one company. Warm, entertaining, and intimidating, all at once. Done with great skill, framed beautifully, and in excellent overall condition. Ready to display.
