Part of the rare and short-lived Lotus series, the base is finished in a matte indigo glaze with a freehand ivory frieze — a rhythmic, abstract pattern that reflects the expressive modernism of Dutch decorative ceramics in the late 20th century. Each vase in this series was uniquely painted, making every example subtly different.

The lamp is topped with a new custom lampshade made from Liberty Fabric’s Marquess Garden Chesham Sateen in Lapis — a richly patterned cotton sateen drawn from a 1977 archive print. The bold blue-and-white florals echo the tones of the base while adding movement, texture, and a soft decorative contrast. Together, they reflect two distinct design legacies from the same moment in time.

Fully rewired and fitted with a custom brass cap and matching cord. The ceramic base remains undamaged and unaltered. This piece has an attribution mark,
