An elegant pair of French Provincial wall sconces made in Paris circa 1860. Originally gas fixtures, these have been converted to electric and feature beautifully cast bronze arms with scrolling "S" curves and applied acanthus leaf details. Each sconce is mounted to a carved hexagonal wooden backplate adorned with a bronze foliate medallion.
Rich patina on the bronze and the timeworn wood give this pair a warm, collected-over-time character. A wonderful accent for classic interiors, perfect for flanking a fireplace, mirror, or hallway!
