The term "End of Day" glass evolved from the practice of European glassmakers using the leftover molten glass in the factory pots at the end of the day to make one-of-a-kind pieces for their own homes or to sell at weekend markets. The practice became a true art form with unique designs being paraded through town on Sundays. End-of-Day glass art typically has multiple colors, which are either rolled into hot glass to form a speckled pattern or swirled into a candy cane pattern. This particular End of Day vase has a trumpet shape and has been fitted with a brass color at the top. See less
