Albert Arthur Allen was an early 20th century photographer whose early work focused on the portraiture of actors, celebrity and theater personalities. He began to sharpen that focus on burlesque actresses and by the 1920's was the leading art photographer of "Follies" and "Art Dancers", a thinly veiled reference to thinly veiled dancers. Having moved to Los Angeles in the early years of the 1900's he was at ground zero for the birth of the movie industry and segued his still photography to moving pictures, establishing his own moving pictures company that featured, quell surprise, nude and barely clad dancers and actress. Of course, the company was a great success!
