This lovely Chinese Traveling Mirrored Shaving Box/Dressing Table was purchased at a New Orleans auction in the early 1990s. It has never been used. The dressing table features a mirror that can be raised and adjusted, and three front drawers that provide space for a variety of items. The two top panels flip open to the left and right sides respectively, revealing the framed mirror that is easily raised when in use. When open, the top panels are supported at the side by intricately designed brackets. The brackets fold back against the box sides when not in use. The panels, when resting on the brackets, have sliding inset panels that open to reveal additional storage space...perfect for jewelry or other items. The wood is rosewood.
Measurements, when completely closed: 9-3/4" tall x 14-3/4" wide x 14-3/4" deep.
Approximately 28" wide and 18” tall when open.
Weight, unboxed: 16 pounds.
Weight, boxed for shipping: 25 pounds.
It would be a lovely addition to any room...either open or closed as a curiosity piece.
