1970'S (maybe 60's) vintage Ellipse Lounge Chair (Rocker) and Ottoman by Renato Zevi. The set was produced in Italy by Selig.
The arms are a sculptural chrome flat bar ellipse frame/arms measuring 1 3/8" w x 1/2" thick..
The cushions have been reupholstered in a brown/white hair calf hide. The original was an orange rust color chenille like fabric. The seat cushion maintains the original amount of 18 covered buttons and the ottoman with 9 buttons.
Most likely this may want to be reupholstered - The seat cushion does have what appears to be a slice or branding mark in one corner. The ottoman however has a corner chewed and a little molting on cushion (BOTH shown in pictures w/blue circle) The cow hide would be easy to match if the seat cushion was kept.
The chrome frame has typical light scratching, age appropriate.
A true Mid-Century Modern piece!
Chair Measurements:
31" ht x 27.5" w x 41" d, Seat ht is 17"
ellipse frames are 20.5" ht x 35" l
Ottoman Measurements:
13.75" ht, base frame is 25"l x 10.5" ht, Cushion is 26" w x 27"
Aside from the 'chewed corner' w/a bit of molting, and some rust spots on inside frame of base, this is in very very good vintage conditoin.
