This chair is the result of a rare collaboration between two acclaimed design visionaries:

Thomas Bina, celebrated for blending modern lines with organic materials, brings his pieces a global, lived-in sophistication.

Ronald Sasson, a leader in Brazilian contemporary design, is known for transforming traditional motifs into modern heirlooms. His work has been featured in international design biennials and luxury interiors worldwide.

Together, they crafted the Trelica collection as a study in structural poetry and cultural narrative.

Inspired by Brazilian & Muxarabi Panels

The chair’s striking lattice back is inspired by muxarabi, intricately carved wood window screens in Brazilian colonial architecture. These panels allowed air and light to filter through while offering privacy—a sophisticated balance of openness and enclosure. In Trelica, this tradition is reinterpreted through a sculpted teak trellis that curves gently around the seat, casting dynamic shadows and creating a rich visual texture.

Frame: Sustainably harvested solid teak, handcrafted in Indonesia with mortise-and-tenon joinery

Finish: Weathered Teak – a multistep artisanal finish that naturally evolves to a silvery-grey patina

Fabric: Perennials® Performance Textured Linen Weave in Natural – soft, durable, UV-resistant, bleach-cleanable

Cushions: Quick-Dry reticulated foam with mesh bottom for rapid drainage and airflow
