length-adjustable dining table by jozef de coene, created in the belgian art deco style of the 1930s.

a base plate covered with sheet brass in a hammered design supports the six-column table construction with a central top.
the oval table top is covered with a chequerboard-like parquetry, which contrasts with fine, reddish-coloured thread inlays on the edge of the solid oak top. The table top is divided in the centre, extendable and can be lengthened in 50 cm increments with three inserts. The extended table is supported by two further pairs of fold-out legs.

interesting facts:
the table was probably made in the workshop of jozef de coene in kortrijk, belgium. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
