The scene is rich in characters and architectural details with a theatrical composition typical of historical depictions. In the center of the composition, a man in Roman clothing holds out his hand to a young woman dressed in white and blue. This male figure could represent Julius Caesar ,a Roman emperor or general,while the woman could be Cleopatra or another noble figure. The colors are warm tones,dominated by reds,golds and whites,with dramatic use of light. General Condition:Good condition. Provenance:Naples late 18th century. Measurements: 55x65cm.
