Constructed from stained beech wood, the frame features Norell’s hallmark craftsmanship: a visible construction with strong, rounded joints and a suspended back in black leather, secured with decorative buckles — both functional and ornamental. The original cushions are upholstered in a vibrant, botanical-patterned fabric that reflects the bold aesthetic of the era, offering a rich contrast to the natural tones of the wood and leather. Generously proportioned and visually expressive, the Ilona sofa embodies the best of Scandinavian modernism — a balance of structure, comfort, and character.
