He worked as a cabinetmaker before turning to furniture design in the 1950s. In 1953, he founded his own company, Omann Jun Møbelfabrik, which produced a wide variety of teak furniture, including sideboards, tables, and chairs.

Omann Jun’s furniture was known for its elegant simplicity and the intelligent use of solid wood. His designs were influenced by Danish and Scandinavian craft traditions as well as the principles of the modern design movement.
