He worked as a cabinetmaker before turning to furniture design in the 1950s. In 1953, he founded his own company, Omann Jun Møbelfabrik, which produced a wide range of teak furniture, including sideboards, tables, and chairs.

Omann Jun’s furniture became known for its elegant simplicity and intelligent use of solid wood. His designs were influenced by Danish and Scandinavian craftsmanship traditions as well as the ideals of the modern design movement.
