A graceful pair of French Provincial lamps, originally crafted as oil lamps in Provence circa 1800 and later expertly converted for electricity. Fashioned from painted tole, these urn-form bodies exemplify Neoclassical elegance with hand-painted classical figural scenes, beautifully aged patina, and sculptural swan-form handles in darkened bronze.
Each lamp is elevated on a squared plinth base with finely cast paw feet, contributing to their poised, architectural stance. The soft ochre tones of the painted finish are accented by timeworn craquelure and surface wear, offering rich historical texture and depth.
