The paintings are of Anthony and Clara … Read more Wonderful pair of portraits by Martinus de la Court signed and dated 1693. The paintings are of Anthony and Clara van Asch van Wyck. There is symbolism through out. Clara has her hand with water flowing over it, which shows that the family life flows through her. Anthony is portrayed as a wealthy merchant by his silk robe and the statue of abundance in the background. Also, in the background is the castle Prattenburg where he lived. See less
