A rare French sculpture depicting Joan of Arc, created in the 1930s by renowned sculptor Maxime Real Del Sarte (1888–1954). This patinated terracotta statue embodies with emotion and intensity the French heroine saint, a symbol of faith, courage, and resistance.
Joan is depicted standing, in a long, flowing gown, her hands clasped in fervent prayer, her face turned heavenward, in a posture marked by reverence. The stylized base evokes the pyre of her martyrdom, recalling the tragic fate of the Maid of Orléans. The work bears the signature "Real Del Sarte" engraved in the material.
A marble copy of this sculpture is preserved in the church of Rouen, the historic site of Joan of Arc's trial and execution, reinforcing the symbolic and heritage value of this piece. This piece has an attribution mark,
