"Aristide Bruant on His Bicycle" (1892) Lithograph on Heavy Paper, Numbered and Stamped with Henri De Toulouse-Lautrec's 3 Letter Initials- HTL.

This piece was acquired from an estate in the 60’s. I am not an art expert, but was told it was a limited edition sepia tone release, most likely from France. Rare piece to find.

It is framed in a 1 inch gold frame with a terra cotta colored mat. The mat has some slight discoloration,

It is marked # 221 of 375 in the lower left corner. I do not have any paperwork to accompany the piece.

Toulouse-Lautrec's signature "spatter" or "splatter" effect, also known as "crachis," was achieved by spattering ink onto the lithographic stone, creating atmospheric mists of color. He used a brush to create this effect, sometimes using a toothbrush to rake the ink-laden bristles.
