German printers in the early days of printing presses. The actual imagery of these prints is entirely my own.

There are four different categories of foods for the suits and a hierarchy-free set of face cards: the Shaper (cook), Mover (wait staffer) and Taster. Each suit is set in a different part of the world, somehow connected to the particular food.

Suits are Herbs, Spices, Onions, and Tomatoes

The various words and ancient scripts included in each image all say the same thing, in contemporary english and in languages closer to the original cultures.
