The chest has typical empire lines, with an overhanging top drawer and columns on the front corners. The chest features three inset drawers, the top one narrower than the bottom two. The drawer fronts are decorated with beautiful book-matched vertical grain veneer. The pattern created by the contrast between the different grains of the wood is mesmerizing and make this a highly decorative piece. The top is also decorated with book-matched veneer that was framed by thick cross-banded veneer.
Overall this is a beautifully built piece of furniture that is highly functional as well as decorative.
