It is an important presence on the floor, the wool quantity per square metre is consistent and its thickness is more than usual standard rugs. Walking on it is a pleasant experience. There is two types of antique French carpet: Savonnerie or Aubussons. They have similar colors and drawings, the difference between Savonnerie and Aubussons is the wool thikness. It is consistent for Savonnerie therefore more valuable, instead lighter and made with needlepoints for the rugs Aubussons. This rug is a precious Savonnerie. The central medallion is typical of French Empire style. The pastel colors of flower's bunches, like pink, blue, light green, and they are used with a great skill.
