On the Design:

This antique Lenkoran Kazak runner rug of Caucasian provenance features dense geometric medallions and a love of sharp geometric details that would inspire several other neighboring weaving traditions. Lenkoran rugs are distinguished primarily by their design, which consists of multiple large horned medallions on the vertical axis derived from dragon rugs. These tribal medallions are decorated with protective latch hooks and geometric talismans with carefully outlined edges. It hosts a rich chocolate brown field underscoring tribal patterns in red, cream, navy blue, and gold tones. Both the field and border are decorated with other intricate tribal motifs and floral detailing as well, which coupled with vivid colors only adds to the rustic charm of the piece.
