This beautiful, 19th Century Louis Philippe style fruitwood buffet is remarkable for the luminous wood tones and grain patterning on the doors & drawers. The top planks have a soft texture that complements the honey-gold color, bearing the evidence of two centuries of patina. Within the frieze is a bank of three drawers: the left and right drawers open by turned wood knobs, whereas the center drawer retains a working lock & key. Below the drawers are two paneled doors that represent each half of the (divided) storage cabinet. Each locking compartment offers a fixed shelf, 15 ⅞” deep, sharing a key between the two doors. Shaped bracket feet support the whole. Cleaned and polished with a paste wax, this antique is sure to anchor any room and will fit many interior design aesthetics.
