Chicago native David "DJ" Porter (20th century) is known for his sculptural approach to pottery, often incorporating figurative designs with raised, layered surfaces. This beautiful glazed ceramic bowl is decorated with folk art-style animals, including an elephant and antelope.
The inside is bright blue, and the overall piece is filled with rustic brown and tan colors. This stoneware bowl is signed by the artist and dated 1982.
