This painting is in good shape and depicts an elderly lady teaching younger children school lessons. Possibly her grandchildren. The painting shows a more peasant rural life, and many features of a more cottage like home. As you can see the teacher has her feet propped up on a foot warmer under the table. The clothing and furnishings of the room are typical of and earlier period of the 1800's. The size of the painting unframed is approximately 17"W x 21"H.
