Vintage carved wood round footstool with a cushion covered in a Suzani textile. The natural white cotton muslin is beautifully embroidered with a traditional tribal floral in shades of yellow, sage green, lavender, cornflower blue, coral and red. The Suzani textiles are from Central Asia and were traditionally part of a bridal dowry. The footstool itself appears to be a 1930’s American piece which really gets a new lease on life with the addition of the Suzani fabric.
The stool is petite though sturdy. There are signs of old adhesive marks at the leg joints which can be seen underneath though not visible from the top. The Suzani textile appears aged though in good condition with no discolorations.
The stool measures 13.5” diameter x 7” tall.
