Extraordinary four-drawer chest of drawers made by Vivai del Sud, an iconic Italian atelier known for the use of natural materials and a refined and exotic style, active mainly between the 60s and 80s. This piece exemplifies the sophisticated, Mediterranean aesthetic typical of the company's production.
The structure is entirely covered in pressed bamboo arranged in a herringbone pattern, a detail that gives visual rhythm and depth to the surface. The geometric pattern extends across all visible sides – front, top and sides – with meticulous continuity, demonstrating remarkable craftsmanship.
The four drawers, of equal height, slide on wooden guides and are equipped with pairs of brass handles, with a patinated golden tone, which add an elegant and discreet accent without breaking the harmony of the overall design.
The chest of drawers is in excellent structural condition, with a warm and natural patina that testifies to the quality of the material and the age of the object. Small traces of time may be present, consistent with the authenticity and experience of the piece.
A piece of furniture with a strong personality, ideal both in modernist environments and in boho-chic, tropical or eclectic contexts. Rare example of the production of Vivai del Sud, increasingly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of 20th century Italian design.
