You can almost walk up the path to the house. This scene is probably from the New Jersey countryside, where the artist was from. What makes it so well done, is that he has captured the countryside on a cloudy winter day with just a hint of sunshine reflecting in the waters. The piece measures with the original frame 36"W x 28"H. The painting has been professionally restored and cleaned, as there was an approximately a 1" pressure tear in a tree line. You can see the repair on the back of the canvas, were a patch has been made over the slit. Overall, the canvas is very sound for its age and the restoration was very minor and does not distract from the piece. His biography is included in the photos. He has had auction record sales of up to $5000.00. The painting emits a clam winter day with shadows from the sunlight coming through in this rural country scene. See less
