The inlay is remarkably intact for an item of this age, and the intricate inlay is exquisite. The lid lifts up to reveal a single large compartment. There is a prior repair to the top. of the chest which is not visible from the outside. The bottom of the chest also has a very fine, barely noticeable age related crack. This piece is a show stopper and very versatile- can be used at the entrance, in the living room or in a bedroom as an elegant storage piece. See less
