Made with hand-woven Pencil Reed Rattan and framed by a splendid polished brass edge, this vintage cachepot recalls the work of the Italian designer Gabriella Crespi for the materials used and the style that contaminates the natural and primitive world with precious and sparkling metals.
The items designed by this designer are better placed in the sphere of Art rather than in that of pure and raw functionalist design; sculptural forms in reflective metals such as brass and steel blend in a splendid contrast with natural materials such as bamboo, cane or rattan.
This cachepot, which you see in the photo combined with another of slightly smaller dimensions (also available for sale in our selection of this website) expresses love for natural fibers and for primitive craftsmanship still existing in some countries of the world.
The "luxury" that exudes when observing it, is not given by the use of gilded material, but by the use of these artisanal processes that are becoming extinct.
The item is in good vintage condition, thoroughly cleaned and treated with a protective oil to preserve its patina.
