Sometimes you come … Read more Very rare set of 6 dining chairs, designed by Bas van Pelt ca.1936 for My Home Netherlands.
Sometimes you come across the lounge chair version (we have these available as well), but this is the first time we see the dining chair of this design.
They have a curved frame made of solid oak wood and a woven papercord seat and backrest. Most likely the papercord has been redone years ago, as the original were in braided rope.
Beautiful set.
The chairs are in good condition. One chair looks slightly different, this backrest is a bit more tilted, still usable though. The others are more or less the same. Furthermore no damages, just some normal traces of use. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
