Most lamps of this … Read more This mid century modern table lamp features an icon of 1950's decor- the sleek black panther. Most lamps of this era have the panther figure often simply alone on the fixture but this rare and exceptionally distinctive design includes a curving freeform contour of lime green/ chartreuse that organically envelopes the animal. The sharp color contrast gives the panther an even deeper appearance of midnight black and enhances its shape as well. The fittings are brass with the bottom of the piece is padded with felt. In over 40 years of experience handling these types of modern lamps, I have never encountered one with this panache and so reflective of the 40's and 50's abstract expressionism and color palette.
