Hand-knotted in wool and originating circa 1910-1920, this 6x9 antique Persian rug is among some of the most intriguing Kazak tribal rugs added to our antique collections.
On the Design:
This antique Kazak rug recaptures the spirit of this lineage with a large-scale cruciform octagonal shield medallion commanding attention in the center. It hosts a rich brick red field underscoring a tribal medallion and other surrounding detailing in beige, cream, navy blue, and teal tones. Free-floating tribal totems, including diamonds, stars, and angular patterns, delightfully reinforce the tribal nature of this piece. It’s a gracious rug with a cultured personality, well suited for a wide array of decor possibilities.
