On the Design:

This piece hosts a navy blue field underscoring intricate floral patterns in red, gold, and beige-brown hues, with a particular accent of salmon tones in the field and borders alike. Admirers of the craft will note what a particular special find any two-sided carpet is, but especially one of such a deft hand, unusual large size and such finely drawn patterns as this piece enjoys. Radiating with a traditional sensibility influenced by both Persian and Mughal design elements, this late 19th century Agra rug has aged beautifully and offers a window into the royal aesthetics of the past.
