A painter, illustrator, designer, animator, and commercial artist, Paul Freeman was born in Brooklyn, New York. He studied at the Community College and the City College of New York and at Hunter College. He was the illustrator for the book "Israel Today" by Ruth Gruber.

Paul K. Freeman was a creative visual artist. Paul K. Freeman was predominantly inspired by the 1950s. The 1950s can be said to have been dominated by Abstract Expressionism, a form of painting that prioritised dramatic brushstrokes and expressed ideas about organic nature, spirituality and the sublime.
