While we were there, we went to a wonderful weekend, antique fair and filled up the car boot with the number of Americana pieces and some textiles….

For your consideration, a beautiful painted wooden candle box. Handmade And paint painted on old Cape Cod. Made of pine with a Jesso, chalky paint finish, patina, and hand oiled overtime.
We think the states from the 1960s possibly a little earlier when things like this were made by local Cape Cotters in the winter season to sell to the summer folk
This candle box is made in a classic New England style with a beautiful American primitive of a salt box house and willow tree, American symbols or happiness and prosperity. The box is approximately 12.5” x 9.5” x 6.5”. It’s solidly made and built to last a lifetime..

In perfect condition with no structural damage or repairs, the painting is vivid, strong and beautifully gone. We especially love the naïve design sense and topped with a star where the hook would mounted to the wall is always an American symbol of hope. See less
