The cabinet below is fitted with … Read more A large and very handsome buffet à deux corps, traditional French two part cupboard. The cabinet below is fitted with one sturdy shelf while the multi-compartmented top portion is fitted for adjustable shelving. Beautifully proportioned throughout, the cabinet doors are each deeply carved with interestingly shaped moulded panels while the bottom skirt across the front is carved with subtle Neoclassical triglyphs, guttae and a rosette. Early 19th century. Retains original key to upper portion with working lock. Good antique condition, with waxed surface, distress, worming and signs of age, some small losses and restorations.
