Layers and layers of encaustic (bees wax & damar resin), ink, oil, crayon, gesso and oil on a cradled 1.5 inch wood panel. I use a torch to manipulate and fuse the wax this gives my surfaces a beautifully textured finish.
There are occasional stray yummy wax drips on the sides which are painted a soft gray - this piece is ready to hang! There is no hanging wire - these panels easily hang with two push pins or small nails.
