An unusual pair of tall 29th C. Wooden + Polychrome painted candlesticks.
Likely from a church or civic building, from the era before electric light was widely available. They present as English / British.
Very tall with detailed neck and base featuring extensive paintwork all around.
57" tall, 7" wide at the diameter. Solid and strong with a nice weight
Both are fitted with a wooden candle as a placeholder, painted in a dusty green - about 6" tall.
In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...
These are a fantastic accent piece that you will not see very often! They are useful in dozens of interesting spots - adjacent to a fireplace., a doorway, on a porch, around a fire pit or outdoor scene, and even in a bathroom adjacent to a fabulous tub.
And, most important to us, they are authentic - carved, truly antique, with character and patina. Gold, green, red, and black...you can't do better than that!
