August Mervart (1865–1937) was a Czech painter and graphic artist.
He was born on December 8, 1865 in Hradec Králové.
In his youth he worked as a decorative painter.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under Professor Maximilian Pirner.
He mainly devoted himself to landscape and figure painting.
He was known for his fine coloring and his sensitive use of light.
He worked in Prague, but traveled a lot and was inspired by nature.
He died on January 17, 1937 in Prague.
His work is classified as realism and impressionism.
