The thickly decorated frame boasts intricate leaf and flower ornaments at both the top crest and bottom corners, accentuated by pearl beading along the interior perimeter. This beautiful antique French gold gilt mirror has the typical rounded upper corners that make it a Louis Philippe mirror.

The mirror contains the original wooden back cladding. The mirror frame is structurally healthy and the mirror has its original mirror plate which is in a very good state. The original gilt finish of the frame is nicely worn, giving it great character.There are some minor imperfections to the frame, as would be expected with a piece of this age and usage, but this does not in any way detract from its charm.

Please note: The stripe visible in the glass is from the board used during photography—it is not part of the mirror glass! The wooden slats at the back of the mirror are there purely for protection—designed to keep the decorative elements secure during lifting or transport. Once the mirror is in place at home or on your mantel, they can simply be unscrewed and removed.
