A pair of tall 19th century Chinese cabinets or armoires made with Ming Dynasty simplicity.
This fantastic pair of cabinets was handcrafted from elm wood using traditional Chinese tenon and mortise joinery.
The center doors feature a large, round bronze faceplate with pear-shaped pulls that open outward to reveal a stationary shelf, two drawers and great storage possibilities. The large round faceplates on the doors depicts the moon. In Chinese tradition, the full moon is a symbol of peace, prosperity and family reunion.
The front and side aprons are elegantly shaped; the front apron is carved in a geometric pattern.
This solid piece, which has been well-maintained in its original natural finish, would make a stunning statement in a large reception or living area or serve as a functional bar.
