This vintage stunning signed and rare Tiffany and Co. sterling silver and 18K gold writing pen was designed by Jean … Read more This vintage stunning signed and rare Tiffany and Co. sterling silver and 18K gold writing pen was designed by Jean Michel Schlumberger in the 1970's. He was a French jewelry designer well known for his work with Tiffany and Co.It is hallmarked "Schlumberger T&C 725". His designs were a remarkable form of whimsy and interruptions of natural forms. Most of his inspiration came from sea creatures, animals and nature. This is reminiscent of a form of cactus perhaps and is textural in feel and form.It has been quoted that the late ands great Diana Vreeland wrote and expressed that Schlumberger appreciates the miracle of jewels and that this was a doorway to his dreams. He passed away in August of 1987. This has recently been sent away to Tiffany in NYC and they replaced the ink cartridges. It has its original felt cover. We have purchased another one and it now has two working cartridges. It was polished professionally by them as well. These cartridges can only be purchased at Tiffany in NYC. What we were told from Tiffany is that this is a WOW for this special rare and special pen that is like a piece of jewelry. They have never seen this one before as it is vintage and from the 70's. This is a collectors piece and a fine desk accessory or a piece to carry in a handbag or pocket. LUXE to the max. It does work now and what a beautiful rare vintage Tiffany pen it is. See less
