A hard-to-find, collector-grade 20th-century Burmese very large lacquerware betel box with traditional Burmese patterns hand-painted on the surface. Two hand-painted trays are nested inside.

The betel box is in excellent condition, with effectively no usage wear for its age. The only cracks are age-related. It shows pride of ownership from the previous owner. This piece is part of legendary interior designer Lucia Lawrence's private collection and it has been stored in a climate-controlled environment continuously, wrapped in shipping paper. It is clear to us that this betel box was created with a decorative purpose in mind, which is rare for the period and the region.
