Schiaparelli, one of the most famous fashion designers, along with Coco Chanel, was prominent between the two World Wars. She created avant-garde styles which showcased her irreverent attitude. This hat design captures her spirit and style. It is stylized, sophisticated and ever so chic. Illustrated and signed by Schompre, a fashion illustrator who worked in France during the 1930's. This image is hard to find with the passage of time. It is original to 1939 and NOT a recent reproduction. It is one of a small group of original Schiaparelli hat images we recently purchased.
