Large Chinese black egg art pottery pot or planter featuring an Asian dragon, with great color. Dated 19th century, these pots were used for storage of black "century eggs" and now make attractive and interesting planters for either inside the home or outside in the garden. An old glazed stoneware Chinese 'egg pot' or planter from Southern China. The pots have a traditional continuous coiling dragon wrapped around the body chasing the eternal flaming pearl. The dragon represents good luck and is carved into the outside clay before firing. A compliment to any entry, patio, flanking a doorway - in the garden or covered patio. The traditional pieces are exceptional with a lovely bluish rim. #5217
